Skellig Rangers made it 2 wins from 2 against Emmets in blustery conditions on Sunday last. The away side were first to score when Conor Cox pointed from a free. The wind was proving difficult and possession was going to be crucial in the middle third. This is where the home side dominated and kicked 5 unanswered points from Brian Hickey, Martin O’ Sullivan and Mike Keating. O’Sullivan  then linked up with Ciaran Keating to point. Half ways through the first half Brian Hickey sent a searching ball into the area and it deceived the keeper and into the back of the net to make the scoreline 1-4 to 0-1. Rangers added further points from Aidan O’ Sullivan and one more from Brian Hickey who kept surging through from centre forward. Billy Doyle pointed for Listowel but Rangers, well on top at this stage, scored again through Hickey and Keating to make the half time score 1-10 to 3 points. The second half got underway and Rangers were again to add to the scoreboard when Hickey pointed again as well as Aidan O’ Sullivan who pointed from long range. Listowel could never really manage to close the gap although they were handed a lifeline when Noel Kennelly goaled from close range after a high ball in. Rangers defence did well all day and Brian O’ Sullivan broke from defence and set up Hickey who pointed. Substitute Brendan O’ Sullivan played Alan Devane through and he slotted over with ease. Listowel added a further point from the boot of Conor Cox from a free. The game was now coming to its conclusion and Stephen O’ Sullivan drove a long range point to make the full time score 1-17 to 1-4.
