New Coaching Academy to be benefit South Kerry GAA

Last Friday night, the South Kerry Coaching Academy was launched in the Park Hotel, Cahersiveen. Over 100 attended the launch, including representatives from all nine South Kerry Clubs as well as Kerry Senior footballers Declan O'Sullivan, Bryan Sheehan and Killian Young. Eighty-four coaches attended ranging from underage to senior level. There were four speakers on the night, Diarmuid Ó Sé (South Kerry Chairman), Michael McCarthy (Kerry Coaching and Games Officer), Jack O'Connor and Martin Horgan (South Kerry's Games Development Administrator). Phase one of the Academy commences on Saturday, February 12th and continues for the following three Saturdays. Coaches are invited to workshops on Coaching versus Training and on meeting the physical fitness demands. The workshops will last for ninety minutes and will be given by Jack O'Connor, John Galvin, Mick O'Dwyer and Donie Buckley. The workshops will be held in Colaiste na Sceilge.
